What are the distinguishing differences of Vietnam International Arbitration Training Institute - VIArb?

VIArb (Vietnam International Arbitration Institute) is a non-profit training institution founded by seven highly qualified and knowledgeable arbitration and alternative dispute resolution (ADR) practitioners in Vietnam. More importantly, these founding members share a common vision and dream: to see a strong future for the arbitration and ADR profession in Vietnam, to elevate the ADR community in Vietnam to world-class status, knowledge, experience, and connections to regional and international ADR markets. VIArb is a non-profit organization dedicated to teaching and uniting the arbitration and ADR communities. Due to constraints in the legal framework, VIArb was temporarily incorporated as a limited liability company, but is being turned into an arbitration research institute.

Over the years, the founding members of VIArb have participated in many activities to promote ADR in Vietnam, both individually and in collaboration with other resources, such as organizing events, training, and seminars on arbitration and ADR, serving as judges, sponsoring large and small ADR events, judging and teaching about ADR at universities, business and lawyer forums, and writing research articles and sharing knowledge about ADR.

Will students be given career opportunities after taking courses at the Vietnam International Arbitration Training Institute - VIArb?

However, the founding members of VIArb have always been concerned with organizing systematic, professional, and in-depth training for the ADR community in Vietnam, given that Vietnam is far behind the rest of the world in terms of arbitration and ADR, and Vietnamese lawyers, arbitrators, and mediators have few opportunities to learn about the practices and realities of resolving international commercial disputes. With that vision, the founding group created VIArb on May 28, 2020, with the goal of developing basic and advanced arbitration and ADR training programs, including short-term, medium-term, and long-term, primarily for individuals who practice arbitration and ADR in Vietnam.

How is the student supported after completing the courses?

VIArb is proud to be Vietnam’s first professional arbitration training organization, with training programs compiled by the Editorial Board from the most advanced training programs in the world of CIArb, SIAC, and ICC, based on the combined knowledge and practice of international and Vietnamese arbitration, and tailored to each group of students. VIArb’s lecturers are all Vietnamese and international arbitrators with extensive knowledge and expertise in international arbitration. They all hold suitable international credentials in arbitration and ADR, and have taught and trained in arbitration and ADR in Vietnam and beyond.
