LAWER PHAN TRONG DAT

Mr. Phan Trong Dat is a lawyer with many years of practical experience in the field of commercial arbitration and mediation. He is currently holding the position of Deputy General Secretary of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VMC), Permanent Deputy Director of the Vietnam Mediation Center, a member of the London Arbitration Institute (MCIArb), a Mediator of the Vietnam Arbitration Center. Effective Dispute Resolution Center (CEDR) and Deputy Secretary General of the Vietnam International Arbitration Center (VIAC). In addition, Mr. Trong Dat is also one of the 8 brightest founders of the Vietnam International Arbitration Institute Viarb.

Lawyer Phan Trong Dat was born and raised in Hanoi. He graduated at the same time from both the prestigious Hanoi Foreign Trade University and the University of Nantes in France. He then completed his master’s thesis at the University of Nantes (France) in the field of project management.

Thanks to the knowledge acquired in your country, Lawyer Trong Dat became the co-manager of the largest project in Vietnam on “Increasing the use of arbitration in Vietnam” (2005-2010). It can be assessed that this is a project that has brought certain turning points for the current development of arbitration in Vietnam. He later closed the drafting process of the 2012 VIAC Arbitration Rules and the World Bank Group.

Mr. Dat’s contributions have brought Vietnam a new development in the field of commercial mediation and arbitration, and at the same time provided effective solutions to settle disputes related to international investment.
